How is our education changing...Maybe even too fast?

I have found that our education is changing at an alarming rate, and if we keep it up we might not be able to keep up. I have that noticed that people think that if we have this piece of technology and they believe that it makes it easier for us, they expect 3x the work from us. I find that if it gets to the point where I can't keep up I tend to stress out and I fall even farther behind. So if technology is supposed to make our lives easier than how come some of us our even more stressed out than ever?

Is it Worth it?

I think that Superbowl commercials are way to expensive and that company's should not be paying for these commercials at these prices. I find that when i watch the Superbowl, i don't want to miss any of the game. So when a commercial break comes on, i get up and leave the room to get a drink or go to the bathroom. So if u really think about it, if i do it, then how many people are you actually getting to watch these commercials. These company's could be paying 3 mill and only get 2/3 or 1/2 of the viewers they could be getting. I think that they should not pay the 3 mill for the Superbowl, I think that they should use that money to spread the same commercial across other channels for a cheaper price.

Short Films

The Sand Castle

I had a hard time trying to figure out the sand castle. I had a lot of mixed feelings about the short film. I found the video started Farly slow, but the longer I watched the more interested I became in the video. I wasn't quiet sure what to think of it at first. He was creating all these creatures and using them to build a castle. I did not like the ending because your all happy that there finished but then it just got destroyed. The only thing i didn't understand was how the first "sandman" was created when the rest of them need help. i still haven't decided how i feel about this video.

Why can't people seem to distinguish between fiction and reality?

I think people can't seem to distinguish between fiction and reality because they seem to believe that whatever is on the TV is true just because it is on the TV. They think the TV portrays a true image of what actually goes on in a crime scene investigation and because they believe this it makes it harder for actual crime scene investigators to convince that someone is guilty or Innocent. I think that they should let people know that this is not how they really solve a crime and that it is much harder than people seem to think it is.

photo retouching (ethical or unethical?)

Is photo retouching unethical? I find that it depends on how you use it. If you are using it to simple switch the heads on your family photos that's just for fun your not hurting anybody. But if you use it to retouch how someone looks and change them into something that there not and then tell people that if they don't look like that person then they are ugly. That is truly unethical.

In this photo they have changed the way this woman looks and changed her into something she is not. A huge problem with this is that the people who read these magazines that have no idea that these photos have been retouched and really think that she looks like that. After they see this photo they strive to look like that woman and try to change themselves and don't care how badly they hurt there body. And the media industry does nothing to stop this behavior.

I feel that the media industry should realize how people interpret these photos and should let people know that nobody really looks like that and that we are all flawed.

Does the media have a strong hold on me?

The media is a very powerful tool and can be addictive because of how simple and easy it is to use. I have noticed this and I find that I use the Internet and my cell phone a lot more than I really should be.

The main reason I use the Internet is to keep in contact with friends I might not be able to see very easily. I have often thought that I might be using the media to much, but after thinking about it for a while I came to the conclusion that it is the simplest way to keep in touch with friends that live out of town that i don't see regularly. I don't use the media all that much outside of that use. So I would say that media has a strong hold on me but I could live with out it if needed.
